Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the results of negotiations with US President Donald Trump . Ukraine is ready for an energy truce, but there are doubts that the Russians are ready for this. The head of state told reporters after a meeting with Trump in New York.
As Zelensky emphasized, Ukraine is ready for an energy ceasefire.
In particular, according to him, if the Russians do not want the Ukrainian Defense Forces to strike at its oil refining industry, then Ukraine is ready for an energy ceasefire only if the Russians do not attack the Ukrainian energy system, water supply infrastructure, and heating systems.
“We are ready for any format of an energy truce. Therefore, if we do not attack energy, then we will not subject all energy to attacks. All of it. This is exactly our proposal. We are very grateful to the American side – they will share it with the Russians. I do not know the Russian position. God forbid, the American side will find a way to involve them in any negotiations,” Zelenskyy said.
At the same time, he is not sure that the Russians are ready to move on to negotiations.

“No, today there were no unilateral requests for Ukraine to stop the strikes. No, on the contrary, we are saying – what can we do about this situation? We are talking about an energy truce, at least if we cannot force Putin to end the war now,” Zelensky stressed.
