Russia has complained about a new drone attack. Powerful explosions were heard in Yaroslavl on the morning of October 31.
There, a local oil refinery, one of the five largest in Russia, was reportedly attacked. Some Russian media outlets are reporting on the strikes on the facility, and Russians are posting videos of the explosions on social media.

The Russian Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU” reported a drone attack on Yaroslavl after 5 a.m. Kyiv time (after 6 a.m. Moscow time).
“Drones attacked Yaroslavl. One of the targets of the attack was the Slavneft-YANOS refinery ,” the report said.
The Russians posted videos online showing the humming of drone engines, weak attempts by Russian air defenses to shoot them down, powerful explosions, and sometimes a glow after them.
Judging by discussions in local forums, the first explosions occurred at approximately 04:38-04:40 Kyiv time, then they continued at intervals of 5-10 minutes. By 05:20, some residents of the city counted at least 10 “bangs” – and they continued.
The Russians also claimed that they were observing “a flare from the refinery,” and the road to the enterprise was blocked.
The fire at the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery is being recorded by satellites, this was noted in the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind”
“This refinery was also attacked on October 1, a severe fire broke out,” the channel administrators recalled.
The attacked plant is among the top 5 largest refineries in Russia
“Yaroslavnefteorgsintez” (“Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez”, “Slavneft-YANOS”) is the largest oil refinery in northern Russia. It is located in Yaroslavl.
The largest shareholders of the company are the Russian giants Gazprom Neft and Rosneft.
This plant is also one of the largest oil refining enterprises in central Russia , it is part of the vertically integrated oil company Slavneft. The main activity of the enterprise is oil refining. The profile of the refinery is fuel and oil.
The enterprise’s capacity is designed to process 15 million tons of oil per year. In terms of primary oil processing, it ranks 5th among Russian oil refineries.
The enterprise produces several dozen types of petroleum products : automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, jet fuel and heating oil; base, compression, transmission and industrial oils; bitumens – road, roofing and construction; paraffin wax products, aromatic hydrocarbons.
Among the consumers of the plant’s products are almost all large enterprises in the Central and Northwestern regions of Russia, as well as airports, the Northern Railway administration, and facilities of the military-industrial complex.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the power went out in the Russian city of Oryol after a drone attack on the city. According to reports from the scene, the local CHP was hit.
It also became known that the State Oil and Gas Regulatory Commission recorded a reduction in oil product processing in Russia of up to 20% after the Ukrainian campaign of deep strikes.
