USA has 2000+ ATACMS.

1000 are past the expiry date but will work another few years before they have to be scrapped.

20 ATACMS were sent to Ukraine, which has been out of the missiles since Oct.

On Dec 8, the US Army received its first PrSM missiles which will replace ATACMS

  1. Biden: We have over 2000 ATACMS in stock. Not to run out of it, we give 20 to Ukraine to defeat Russia. I am the good uncle, hahaha.

  2. I haven’t seen anything saying how many PrSM missiles were delivered. Maybe the receipt of PrSM’s will free up ATACMS for delivery to Ukraine. (If we can ever get the pro-putler wing of the Republican congress to approve the funding that President Biden has requested…)

    • Joe Bidenov hasn’t even requested them. In fact, he said more than once Ukraine doesn’t need them. Don’t try to blame the GOP, Bidenov is the commander in chief. Its a new year, please try to be honest.

      • Bidenov?
Are you trying to get the award for the most immature comment of 2024?

        “Don’t blame the GOP?”
Of course not, why would you blame the party thanks to which Ukraine is recieving no aid at all in a war against the second most powerful army in the world?

If Biden sent more ATACMS, Ukraine would have run out of other more important types of ammunition, as ATACMS are expensive and eat up a lot of the already near depleted aid package.

Of course he should have sent them earlier, don’t get me wrong. But the fact that Ukraine currently is without ATACMS is not something we can blame Joe Biden for, he simply doesn’t have the money and any emergency funds will most likely go to 155mm shells and air defence missiles, as Ukraine still has Storm Shadows that can be used for the same kind of targets.

      • President Biden is the commander in chief, but Congress holds the “power of the purse”. President Biden can’t send the aid that he’s requested unless Congress approves the funding. And the MAGAt Republicans in the house are blocking that funding.

It’s a new year, please try to be honest. President Biden asked for the funding back in October. The *only* reason Ukraine hasn’t gotten that 61 billion is because Republicans are blocking it.

(Perhaps you didn’t understand what I wrote. There were 2 distinct points.

        1. Speculation that if the reason for not sending more ATACMS is because the US military needs them for readiness, then the arrival of PrSM’s might free up a corresponding number of ATACMS.

        2. A statement that the US is unable to provide *any* aid because of Republican intransigence, so even if #1 panned out, we couldn’t send anything.)

        • The Lend Lease Program approved by Congress in 2022 has never been drawn down by Biden. Biden is as screwed up as MAGA.

          • I posted about this before. It’s an annual thing. The House version of the FY24 NDAA contained a provision (sec. 1224) that would extend the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022 through fiscal year 2024. The Senate amendment contained no similar provision. The final NDAA didn’t contain the extension.

President Biden wasn’t using it previously because the congressionally approved pot of money that hadn’t been zeroed out yet. As the administration explained, “We are prioritizing security assistance that they would not have to pay us back for.”

So, we sent stuff for free while there was money for it. Unfortunately, the lend-lease authorization expired before the money ran out. Now, there’s no money, and no lend-lease to tap.
