According to Bloomberg, this will be the 19th violation of the American sanctions regime.
A liquefied natural gas plant in Russia’s Leningrad region has completed its first shipment to China since the imposition of US sanctions, Bloomberg reports .
According to the publication, the Valera, which has also been under US sanctions since Joe Biden’s presidency, loaded up with natural gas from a Gazprom-owned refinery in October and arrived at the Beihai terminal in southern China on December 8.

“If the cargo is unloaded, it will be the 19th LNG shipment to China from the blacklisted Russian plant,” journalists note.
Most world powers are hesitant to cooperate with a legal entity under US sanctions due to the risk of being subject to secondary restrictions, but Beijing ignores US restrictions.
The total volume of Russian LNG exports to China, including supplies from plants not subject to sanctions, increased by approximately 14% from September to November compared to the same period last year.
