US donates 40 trucks to border guards to patrol hard-to-reach areas

The United States of America donated 40 trucks to the State Border Service of Ukraine to patrol hard-to-reach border areas.

This was reported by the US Embassy on the social network Facebook .

“The United States continues to support Ukraine in its efforts to strengthen peace and security. On February 4, 2022, the Technical Assistance to Law Enforcement (INL) Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev handed over forty Mitsubishi all-wheel drive trucks to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SFSU),” the report says. .

In particular, US diplomats noted that the equipment is part of a US$20 million emergency assistance package to the State Border Guard Service and will assist in the performance of vital law enforcement functions in response to Russian aggression.

“These off-road vehicles will be used by the SFSU to patrol huge, hard-to-reach border areas. The emergency assistance provided by the INL to the SFSU also contains other vehicles, portable structures, radio communications, personal protective equipment, tents and other equipment,” the statement said.
