A reconnaissance drone shot down on the territory of Belarus , which the regime of the unrecognized president of the country Alexander Lukashenko called “Ukrainian”, actually turned out to be Russian.

It is reported by The Insider.

In Minsk, they claimed that they shot down a Ukrainian-made Spectator M1 UAV, which allegedly carried out reconnaissance. However, later experts analyzed the photo of the downed drone and came to the conclusion that the shape of the head of the indicated device is more similar to the Russian Orlan drone, but with some modifications.

“The wings of the Spectator are equipped with aerodynamic winglet limbs, which the Orlan does not have,” the experts stated.

Russia supplies Orlans to a number of countries, in particular to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar and Uzbekistan, but Ukraine is not among them.

What drone are you talking about?

Yesterday, February 3,  Belarus accused Ukraine of illegal intelligence and said it shot down a Ukrainian drone.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus summoned the Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kizim, allegedly because of the illegal crossing of the Belarusian border by a Ukrainian drone.

“Based on the analysis of on-board equipment data, it has been reliably established that it was launched from the territory of Ukraine in order to conduct illegal reconnaissance activities over the Brestsky military training ground,” the ministry said.

In turn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called on Minsk not to play along with the destabilizing actions of the Russian Federation and objected that this drone is related to Ukraine.
