Ukraine’s Foreign Minister: Trump is a man you can work with, you just need to know how

3 JANUARY 2024

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, does not believe that the potential election of Donald Trump as US president in 2024 could negatively affect support for Ukraine if an approach is found.

Source: Kuleba in an interview for NV (Ukrainian outlet) called Ukraine and the World Ahead. 2024, published on 3 January, European Pravda reports

Details: Commenting on the prospects of Trump’s re-election as US president, Kuleba said, “You have to squeeze out the benefits for yourself, for your country – or turn the situation in such a way that you can squeeze out the benefits for the country”.

Quote: “Trump is known for his, I would say, ultra-charismatic actions, his reputation and his phrases. But who sold the first American weapon to Ukraine? President Trump [sent us] Javelins. Who launched the programme of free delivery of the first naval vessels, the Island and Mark VI boats, to Ukraine? Trump. Who fought the Nord Stream 2 project and imposed sanctions on the well-known but already forgotten Fortuna ship that laid this pipeline? It was Trump.”

The foreign minister also rejected the possibility of any agreements with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump or any other American leader.

“That’s why Trump is a person you can work with; you just need to know how to work with him. If he makes it to the election and if he wins, he will be completely different from President Joe Biden, to whom we are extremely grateful for everything. There are a lot of “ifs”, but Ukraine should not be afraid of anything, no elections and no current or future politicians,” he concluded.

The former US president has repeatedly said that he has a “plan” to ensure peace in Ukraine within 24 hours if he returned to the highest office.

In November, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, invited former US President Donald Trump to come to Ukraine. But Trump refused, citing a “conflict of interest” with the current Joe Biden administration.

  1. “But who sold the first American weapon to Ukraine? President Trump [sent us] Javelins. You can’t argue with that. As the old saying goes, actions speak louder than words. Trump speaks loud words, and this is what makes us afraid of what will happen when he’s POTUS, should it come to that. Trump must be made to see the fact that dumping Ukraine will never make America great again, but will cause the opposite. Either way, we can’t influence what will happen. I trust that if there is anyone in Ukraine’s government who will be able to handle Trump, it’s Kuleba.

    • Trump was similar with NATO. He said some of them were taking advantage of the USA (MAGA) and the media back in the States reported, “Oh, Trump hates NATO, Trump wants to break up NATO…” blah blah blah.
      But, what happened?
Many NATO countries started to pitch in more money. Thank God for that too because Vladolf invaded Ukraine.
      But, what else happened?
A year after Biden went to the White House, Vladolf invaded Ukraine. A year after Obama won his last term, Vladolf invaded Ukraine.
But, what happened during the 4 years between?
Vladolf was a good little dictator because Trump was complimenting the little demon. You ever been out with a girl that complimented you and then stabbed you in the back Sir Facts?
      That’s Trump to Putin 😉

      • I still hope that Trump will either be in jail, be barred from running, or will lose, Sir Red. Sorry, but that’s the way it is for me. I do think that things MIGHT not be as bad with him as it now seems. But, I would rather have someone in the WH who is a lot more reliable and predicable. Trump is neither.

    • Let’s not give him too much credits for sanctioning Nord Stream as the sanctions were much too limited and not imposed on Germany. Also, I don’t think helping Ukraine was the reason, but to sell more LNG.

And the Javelins were a joke, there were very few of them and Ukraine wasn’t allowed to use them in combat.
Only in case of a full scale invasion they were allowed to use them.

      • Never forget that fear and/or greed and/or stupidity have been constant companions of EVERY Western leader during the past 2 decades, Bert.

  2. Kuleba is generally brilliant. But then, he decided to bring out his polishing brush a little too quickly for my taste.

Trump’s assets in Ukraine pale in comparison to the countless Orc butts he has kissed or the manipulations he has orchestrated over the past two years in the House to limit aid to Ukraine. The Orange baboon froze also millions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine to aid its own witch hunt.

Its solution in 24 hours, everyone knows how it will go. A big cutter blow across Ukraine. Do you realize that this orange bastard thinks that the Nazis in the Kremlin are friendly politicians! We are talking about war criminals. All is said.

Kuleba doesn’t have the luxury of telling the truth.

    • Trump did do those things that Kuleba highlighted, but you’re right that he also froze the money for shady reasons. My thoughts about Trump haven’t changed. Although things MIGHT not be as bad as we’re fearing if he’s POTUS again, I’d rather have someone more reliable and predictable in the Oval Office.

  3. He is of course expressing these thoughts because he fears a Trumpkov regime as much as putler hopes for one, for blindingly obvious reasons.
As a diplomat he has no option other than a charm offensive, because he knows what a vindictive bastard Trumpkov is.
He will have read and heard the grotesque things Trumpkov has already said. He will be under no illusions about Trump’s contempt for Ukraine and undisguised love of putler and putlerism. John Bolton, Kurt Volker and Lev Parnas have already testified to this in great detail.

    • Wrong. I bet you a thousand dollars if you ask Kuleba what he meant and he would say I said what I said because I meant it. You really need to learn that there are good people that do not think like you Sir Scradge. You will be happier when you finally learn that.

      • I will credit you with one thing: you are at last being reasonably polite. Credit where credit’s due. Keep it up.
You obviously still refuse to read what that evil bastard said to Travis and Sexton back in Feb 2022. I suggest you read it. Please explain how those hateful words show any support WHATSOEVER for Ukraine. When you read it please explain why you aren’t burning with shame?
Kuleba will have read everything Trump has said about Ukraine since 2014 and reached the same conclusion as any rational person.

Then read what the asshole son said about Zel and Ukraine.
Then watch the video of Trump only last year saying that putler’s “gonna take all Ukraine.”
Then explain why all Trump’s friends and family are filthy putlerites, including the worst of all : Manafort.
Explain why you believe that Trump’s acolytes in Congress, who have already caused deaths due to ammo rationing, are pro-Ukraine?
You live in a parallel reality.
If you can find even one Ukrainian who actually knows what Trump has said about their beleaguered country and still supports him, then you’ve found Medvedchuk.
Read what John Bolton, Kurt Volker and Lev Parnas have testified about Trump’s private sayings about Ukraine.

        • Personally, I am not interested in what politicians SAY, but I am very interested in what they DO. I learned that several decades ago that politicians are not the most honest people. You know the old saying, “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Besides that, the “rope a dope” technique works on my occasions besides boxing, it works in politics too. You should know from your past that often a negotiating position is double what you really want so you can compromise and still win. Trump does that and jerks the media at the same time.

          • Lifting sanctions on a Russian aluminium plant, blackmailing Zelensky by withholding military aid if he refuses to deliver some dirt on Biden.
Trying to lower the amount of money being sent to Ukraine. Adding restrictions to what Javelins could be used for (there were only in storage until 2022).
Also in deeds it wasn’t impressive.

    • Kuleba might also know that Trump is as wishy-washy as a woman and that with certain methods, he can be wooed like one. Trump’s ego is larger than his IQ.
