There will be no NATO membership: Kuleba named three real security guarantees for Ukraine

The first guarantee should be systematic, large-scale, and understandable supplies of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the US and the EU.

Ukraine will almost certainly not become a member of NATO in the near future, so we need to consider alternative options that guarantee the security of our state . Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this in a video on his YouTube channel , naming the three most real and reliable security guarantees.

He noted that the first guarantee should be systematic, large-scale, and understandable supplies of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the US and the EU.

“Not general words that over the next 10 years America and Europe will support the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their development, but very specific ones. Every year, for example, two air defense batteries, or 2 million shells, tanks, drones, missiles, and so on for 10 years,” he noted.

This will give the Armed Forces of Ukraine strength for the defense of Ukraine, Kuleba emphasized.

The second security guarantee, according to the former Foreign Ministry official, is Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.

“Because this war began in 2014 and escalated into a full-scale Russian invasion for one simple reason: because Putin believed that Ukraine was a buffer zone that he had the right to take for himself,” Kuleba said.

He noted that there are two ways to eliminate this threat: the disappearance of Russia, or the inclusion of Ukraine in the EU, so that Putin understands that Ukraine is not a buffer zone, but part of Europe.

Kuleba added that the EU was created, including as a defense union, it was simply not developed. But, there is a legal basis for this, and in the future, an organization similar to NATO can be built with the EU.

And the third security guarantee, according to him, is the restoration of Ukraine and its financial support in the coming years. Kuleba noted that only stability within the state will help in carrying out the necessary reforms, without “slipping” into political populism.

He stressed that it is very important to allow Ukrainian business to recover after the war. “Because, as I have always said, the only strength is in the Ukrainian army, in Ukrainian entrepreneurs,” he stressed.

Security guarantees for Ukraine

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that  Ukraine initially wanted to receive security guarantees in the form of joining NATO in order to avoid a repeated attack by the Russian Federation, but partners from the United States and Europe did not support this option.

Therefore, Ukraine insists on bilateral security guarantees based on the principle of Article 5 of NATO between Ukraine and the United States, and security guarantees from European countries, as well as other countries – Canada, Japan, etc. – so that another coming of Russian aggression does not begin.

  1. “The second security guarantee, according to the former Foreign Ministry official, is Ukraine’s membership in the European Union.”

Is that a security guarantee for Ukraine or for the EU?

  2. “Ukraine initially wanted to receive security guarantees in the form of joining NATO in order to avoid a repeated attack by the Russian Federation, but partners from the United States and Europe did not support this option.”

This is just plain shitty behavior for those who are either being protected by Ukraine with its blood, or who have violated its agreements with the country when it took away its nukes. Go to hell, all of you!
Having said that, what worth is NATO anyway? After seeing how no one is wiling to even down drones and missiles over Ukraine when they get near their own territory, or even after they crossed the borders, I’d say that the concept of NATO is DEAD.
