According to the correspondent of UNIAN, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this in Kyiv at a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain David Lammy.

The US Secretary of State noted that Ukraine is experiencing a difficult moment in connection with the expansion of attacks by Russia. As Blinken said, Ukrainian cities, citizens and infrastructure suffer from terrible brutality.

“And now Putin is expanding the possibilities of his aggression with the acquisition of Iranian ballistic missiles. Therefore, we are working urgently to continue meeting Ukraine’s needs so that it can effectively defend itself,” Blinken emphasized.Video of the day

The US Secretary of State recalled that in July at the NATO summit, President Joe Biden promised to provide Ukraine with five strategic air defense systems and dozens of tactical air defense systems.

According to him, several of these systems have been delivered.

“We are fully working on the fulfillment of these obligations in the coming weeks and we will continue to increase the air defense systems of Ukraine,” Blinken stressed.

He also said that the US supports the program for training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.

In turn, Lemmy said, other authoritarian regimes this week recalled how they are helping Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

“Iran goes even further to support Moscow by maintaining ballistic missiles – this is a significant and dangerous escalation,” Lemmy emphasized.

He added that Britain and the United States reacted quickly to the fact that Iran undermines global security. In particular, Britain introduced sanctions against Iranian officials and companies, against Russian companies and ships involved in the transportation of weapons. Flights of Iranian planes to Europe were still limited.
