Olena Shulyak, chairperson of the Servant of the People Party, published a statement from the party regarding today’s events in Donbass. Thus, the party is convinced that Russia is trying to artificially create a pretext for a full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement published on the party’s Telegram channel.
“Russia has resorted to yet another provocation in the Donbas. The Kremlin and its puppet regimes were not satisfied with the months-long marathon with the concentration of the Russian military contingent on the Ukrainian borders. Yesterday’s shelling of kindergartens, schools and residential buildings in the Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions was not enough for them. Today, they began the illegal deportation of residents of the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, in particular children in the Russian Federation,” the statement said.
The party notes that this is being done under a fake pretext of preparing an offensive operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories.
“We have no doubt about the purpose of this provocation: to artificially create a pretext for a full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. We regard this step of terrorists supported by the Russian Federation as a gross violation of the basic norms of international humanitarian law, in particular the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Population” , – they say in the “Servant of the People”.
The party once again emphasized that Ukraine is not considering the possibility of liberating the temporarily occupied territories by military means, and accordingly, it has not planned and is not planning any offensive operations in the Donbass.
“We are exclusively for the diplomatic path, the path of negotiations, which in the situation around Donbass has no alternative. It was our side that proposed to urgently convene a meeting of the TCG given the aggravation of the situation, but representatives of the Russian occupation administrations refused the negotiation process,” the Servant of the People says.
It is reported that Ukraine will appeal to the international community to categorically condemn the actions of the Russian occupation administrations in Donbas and force the Russian Federation to stop violations of international humanitarian law.
“Only a firm position of the world community can divert the humanitarian catastrophe that the Russian occupation authorities are preparing in Donbas today. We also appeal to civilians in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Ukraine has never been and is not your enemy today. We will not allow our side of the line of demarcation, no actions that could lead to a threat to your life and health.If you feel in danger today due to whipping up hysteria by the occupiers, we invite each of you to the territory controlled by Ukraine, where you will find shelter and help, and most importantly, security We will create all the conditions so that you can lead a peaceful and calm life, like at home, because in Ukraine you are at home everywhere. And not a single aggression or temporary occupation will change this,” the party stressed.
Recall that earlier Zelensky commented on the statements of the leaders of the “LDNR” about the evacuation of the population.
