On the night of October 6, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on the Moscow region of the Russian Federation . The main target of the strike was the Volodarskaya linear production and dispatching station, located near the village of Konstantinovo.

As a result of the strikes on the territory of a strategic infrastructure facility, a large-scale fire broke out. This was reported by the monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+.

Details of the night attack and the extent of the fire

According to reports from local residents and eyewitnesses on social media, the attack took place at night. A series of explosions were heard on the territory of the station, after which columns of thick smoke rose above the facility.

Witnesses at the scene say that at least two fuel tanks are on fire on the territory of the LVDS. The work of emergency services can be clearly heard in the area of the village of Konstantinovo and surrounding settlements.

What is known about the object?

LVDS “Volodarskaya” is a branch of JSC “Transneft – Upper Volga” and is the largest oil depot and key dispatching point for main oil products in the entire Moscow region.

The total volume of the tank farm is about 250 thousand cubic meters. The structure includes 12 RVS-5000 tanks, 8 RVS-10000 tanks, 4 RVS-20000 tanks, as well as special tanks for technological mixtures and fuel oil.

The station is directly connected to the ring main oil product pipeline around Moscow and is the main hub for transshipment and supply of aviation fuel for the airports of the Moscow Aviation Hub “Sheremetyevo”, “Domodedovo”, “Vnukovo”, as well as the military airfield “Chkalovsky”.

The Volodarskaya LVDS is the main source of gasoline and diesel fuel from the Ryazan and Moscow refineries. The disruption of the station’s operation critically reduces the rate of accumulation and distribution of light petroleum products, which provide both civilian and military logistics for the Central Industrial Region of the Russian Federation.
