Trump stated that the United States is ready to help Russia if a problem with a dangerous infection really arises there.
US President Donald Trump stated that the United States may assist Russia amid reports of a possible plague death in the Irkutsk region. He told reporters at the White House, CNBC reports .
According to Trump, in Russia this case was called “pneumonia.” He also stated that similar illnesses used to be easier to treat, but now “the germs have become disproportionately stronger.”
“We’ll help them. We always help people who have this problem,” Trump said.
At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington is monitoring the situation in Russia but does not consider it a cause for concern, The Guardian reports.
“Travel between the US and Russia is obviously very limited. But if something like this happens, it spreads very quickly,” Rubio noted.
