Russia should be expelled from the United Nations Security Council or stripped of its veto power.

According to The Guardian , such a statement was made by Sir Geoffrey Nice, head of the tribunal over former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic.play video

“A very important step that needs to be taken is to remove Russia from the Security Council, or remove its veto power, or in some other way, remove its ability to prevent its own trial. This right, just think about it, is equivalent to if Hitler would have been given veto power in 1944 over who would be tried at Nuremberg in 1946,” Nice said.

Then the head of the Milosevic Tribunal added: “To say that the current system [of the Security Council] is a bit broken or incomplete is not to say that we should not make every effort to improve it.”

Nice also needs to ensure that Russia turns over all identified or potential defendants after the war is over. Further, the head of the tribunal added that the international community may be ready to take the steps described above, because the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine shocked the whole world and brought it to the brink of a nuclear catastrophe.

  1. Russia has a conflict of interest on the UNSC. Frankly, Russia should be expelled from the UN entirely.

  2. “…why Russia should be excluded from the UN Security Council”
How long have we been saying this???

      • He is a brilliant prosecutor. It is instructive to see the charges he brought against that other human shitstain: Milosevic:

“genocide; complicity in genocide; deportation; murder; persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds; inhumane acts/forcible transfer; extermination; imprisonment; torture; willful killing; unlawful confinement; willfully causing great suffering; unlawful deportation or transfer; extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly; cruel treatment; plunder of public or private property; attacks on civilians; destruction or willful damage done to historic monuments and institutions dedicated to education or religion; unlawful attacks on civilian objects.”

        Fucking Putler is a rerun.
