“During the occupation of the villages of Yagide and Lukashovka in the Chernihiv region, the Russian invaders set up their headquarters in the Church of the Ascension. They found the bodies of people, probably local residents, who were shot by the Russian military,” Denisova said.

She stressed that the terror, mistreatment and killing of civilians in the occupied territories is a war crime, defined by the Charter of the International Military Tribunal and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and violations of the Geneva Convention for the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.
