The latest update captures the pace of a war with no sign of slowing

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has published its latest estimate of Russian battlefield losses since the start of the full-scale invasion, including troop casualties and losses of military equipment.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 1, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation

Last night, on July 31, Ukrainian drones struck several Russian regions, targeting oil refineries, logistics facilities and port infrastructure. Strikes and explosions were reported in Volgograd, Dagestan, Tatarstan and Nizhnekamsk, with fires reported at several sites.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia has suffered significantly higher military losses than Ukraine during the full-scale war. He estimated Russian losses at around 1.6 million, including roughly 700,000 killed, while putting Ukraine’s losses at about 50,000 killed and 400,000 wounded.
