Passengers are promised a refund or replacement of their tickets within 10 days.
One of Russia’s main airports , Sheremetyevo, has apparently collapsed due to a hacker attack. Thousands of passengers are stuck in terminals due to flight cancellations and rescheduling.

As Baza writes , hundreds of Aeroflot passengers were trapped at Sheremetyevo Airport on the morning of July 28. Some flights were cancelled, some were rescheduled. According to eyewitnesses, after several hours of waiting, the would-be passengers decided to leave the airport, but there were difficulties here too – a traffic jam formed in the passage, and they had to stand in line.
“Sheremetyevo is in a state of collapse again – dozens of Aeroflot flights have been cancelled or delayed, and passengers are standing in line just to leave the airport. The airline announced a “service disruption,” the statement said.
According to media reports, the failure is allegedly related to a large-scale hacker attack. The corresponding statement was made by members of the Silent Crow and Cyberpartisans BY groups. They claim that they destroyed the IT infrastructure of Aeroflot airline.
“They carried out the operation over the course of a year, and during that time they penetrated the corporate network, were able to gain access to a data array of flight history and personnel control systems, as well as to records of telephone conversations within the company. They also claim that they managed to destroy about 7,000 physical and virtual servers,” Baza notes .
In turn, the airline reported a failure in the operation of information systems, which led to incorrect operation of services.
“In connection with this, a forced adjustment to the flight schedule is expected, including by way of postponement and cancellation. We ask passengers to follow the information on the online boards of airport websites across the airline’s entire route network – the online board of Sheremetyevo Airport when departing from Moscow, the airport information boards and the announcements over the loudspeaker at the airport,” the statement said.
It is noted that work is currently underway to “minimize the risks of fulfilling the production flight plan” and restoring service operations.
Flights to Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody, Minsk, Murmansk, Omsk, Orenburg, Orsk, Perm, Samara, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Tyumen, etc. have been changed.
Passengers of cancelled flights are advised to go to the baggage claim area of Sheremetyevo Airport to collect their previously checked-in baggage. Passengers of cancelled flights are promised a refund or a rebooking of their ticket within the next 10 days.
