Russia “fighting alone against the entire West” with no battlefield allies, says Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says Moscow is now “fighting alone against the entire West” for the first time, without any battlefield allies. He also reiterated Russia’s demand for “absolutely no further NATO expansion”

Russian state-run propaganda agencies RIA Novosti and TASS reported the information.

“We have a lot on our plate. The main task, of course, is to defeat the enemy. For the first time in our history, Russia is fighting alone against the entire West,” Lavrov said. “In World War I and World War II, we had allies. Now, we have no allies on the battlefield. So we must rely on ourselves. There’s no room for weakness or hesitation.”

Lavrov added that during the Cold War, there was “mutual respect” between the U.S. and the Soviet Union — something he claims no longer exists today.

At the same time, he insisted that the Kremlin is focused on protecting its own security.

“No NATO involvement with Ukraine, no expansion at all,” Lavrov said. “NATO has already expanded right up to our borders, despite all the promises and agreements that were made.”
