Russia’s Fuel Crisis Deepens As Ukraine Expands Strikes

Jay in Kyiv

Entire regions of Russia are now without fuel as Ukraine intensifies its strikes on Russian oil infrastructure. Refineries, pumping stations, pipelines, and export terminals are all being hit — crippling Russia’s ability to supply its own people, let alone fund the war.

With more than a fifth of Russia’s refining capacity already offline, gas stations are running dry, prices are spiking, and long lines are forming across multiple regions. This collapse of Russia’s oil lifeline is sending shockwaves through the economy — from transport and agriculture to industry and the military.

Ukraine’s campaign against Russian energy assets is not slowing down. Each strike deepens the crisis, further eroding the Kremlin’s ability to wage war and exposing the fragility of an economy long dependent on oil and gas exports.
