Against the backdrop of the failure in negotiations with the United States and NATO, Moscow lowered the level of demands on the West regarding the non-entry of a number of post-Soviet countries into NATO, including Ukraine and Georgia.
This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov during a speech at the Valdai Club, TASS quotes propaganda .
Russia insists on violating the international agreements of 2008 or Washington’s personal commitments never to vote for the entry of Ukraine and Georgia into the Alliance.
“This well-known formula of the 2008 Bucharest summit that Ukraine and Georgia will become members of NATO, this should be ruled out, this should be replaced by the understanding that this will never happen. Or alternatively, if the United States assumes unilateral obligations in legal form, that they will never vote for the entry of Ukraine and other countries into NATO, we are ready to consider this option,” Ryabkov said.
He added that it was “an easier path for the US” if Washington “has enough political will.”
According to him, Russia will call the United States to account, “so that they look at what is more priority for them: European security or some flawed ideas in themselves.”
“Russia will do everything possible to stop Ukraine’s integration into NATO through diplomatic means, since this process affects Russia’s security interests. The Russian draft documents on European security suggest just such a way,” Ryabkov said.
In turn, Russia has repeatedly violated international law, in particular, by invading Ukraine in 2014 and occupying Crimea and part of the Donbass.
While announcing its ultimatum to Europe and the United States, Moscow itself does not give any security guarantees .

He is right about one thing, if we allow Ukraine to join Nato there will be nothing that RuSSia could do about it.
And he doesn’t even offer a crumb in the other direction. Typical Moskali. Naturally they would lie and cheat anyway but not even a tiny carrot in return of such a change in position. Best to just spit in their faces and give them the bird.
It doesn’t matter what we say, promise, or agree to … in the end it won’t satisfy the voracious monsters in the Kremlin. They will soon make the next demands and will underline them with another troop buildup, or they will invade the next country, or steal the next piece of territory. They will continue to interfere with our elections and kill opponents on our turf.
Thus, we must assure the destruction of Putin and his system. Nothing less will do.
