Russia and Ukraine are destined to be close allies because they are “one people,” – Medinsky

The head of the Russian delegation at the talks in Istanbul and an aide to dictator Putin, Vladimir Medinsky, called the war between Russia and Ukraine a “fratricidal” battle.

As Censor.NET reports, he stated this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

According to him, the West’s mistake is that it views Russia’s aggression against Ukraine as something similar to the conflict between England and France – two countries with their own different history and culture.

Thus, Medinsky said that the war in Ukraine is “rather a fratricidal battle between two states with a common language and culture, which are essentially one people and are destined to be close allies.”

“This is like a conflict between two brothers, an older and a younger one – about which of them is smarter and more important. This conflict, unfortunately, deepens our differences, and therefore we want it to end as soon as possible,” Putin’s aide noted.

He also stated that it is “impossible to wage a long war” with Russia .

Ukraine’s reaction

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry considers the statements about “younger brothers” to be a disguise by Russia for its expansionist ambitions.

“If Russia calls itself a ‘brother’ to any Central or Eastern European country, then it is the same Cain in this story who is already holding the stone,” said Heorhiy Tykhyi, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. Джерело: https://censor.net/ua/n3557237

  1. Ruzzians are so stupid and boring. They just recycle the same three ideas over and over again. They really think that a repeated lie magically becomes the truth
