Putin says he’s ready for real meetings – we pushed him a little – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that russian dictator vladimir putin had expressed a willingness to hold substantive meetings, a move prompted by Ukraine. The head of state made this announcement in an evening video address on Sunday, May 10.

Zelenskyy noted that preparations for diplomatic efforts next week are underway. According to him, there is a separate agenda for talks with the American side regarding security issues.

“Now Putin himself says that he is finally ready for real meetings—we nudged him a little, and we have long been prepared for these meetings—so we need to find a format. We must end this war and reliably guarantee security,” the President emphasized.

In addition, Zelenskyy reported that as of today, the aggressor country, russia, has not carried out massive airstrikes on Ukraine, but continues its activities in frontline areas, especially in directions that are important to them. Ukraine has refrained from long-range retaliatory actions in response to the absence of russian large-scale attacks, but will respond in kind if the russians decide to return to full-scale war, Zelenskyy emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 9, an adviser to the russian dictator, Dmitry Ushakov, stated that since Ukraine did not attack the May 9 parade in moscow, russia would not carry out another massive strike on Kyiv.
