The Kirish Oil Refinery, one of the largest in Russia, has shut down its CDU-6 primary oil processing unit after a Ukrainian drone attack and fire on the night of October 4.

This was reported by Reuters, citing two sources, Censor.NET reports.
According to the agency’s interlocutors, the facility has a capacity of 160,000 barrels per day, which is about 40% of the plant’s total processing capacity.
Sources say the renovations will take about a month.
The agency’s interlocutors also added that during the repair, the refinery will operate at 70% capacity at the expense of other installations that will exceed their production capabilities.
Kirishinaftoorgsintez is one of the largest Russian refineries. According to sources, in 2024 the plant processed 17.5 million tons of oil, which was 6.6% of the total oil refining volume in Russia.
We would like to remind you that earlier the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of October 4, 2025, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Kirishinefteorgsintez enterprise (Kirishi, Leningrad Region, Russian Federation). Explosions and a fire were recorded at the facility. The results of the damage are being clarified.
