Naval drones attacked the port in Sochi: thick smoke rose (video)

Eyewitnesses recorded two plumes of smoke near the Sochi seaport. Russian monitoring channels reported an explosion.

Smoke rose above the seaport of Sochi in Russia’s Krasnodar region on Thursday, September 3. Local residents and monitoring channels had previously reported an attack by unmanned boats.

According to OSINT analysis by Astra , eyewitness footage shows smoke in the area of ​​the Sochi seaport. Later, information appeared that an unmanned boat reached the city’s shores and exploded directly in the port. Of particular note is that a warship was previously moored in this part of the port, according to satellite images from 2024. However, it is unknown whether it was there at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, another drone incident has been reported in Russia. Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that a drone hit a factory in the village of Bolshevye Bunkovo, Bogorodsky District, causing a fire,  the BBC Russian service reports .

The Russian official did not specify the name of the enterprise. According to open data, a glass container factory and a ceramic products manufacturing enterprise are located in Velyky Bunkovo. In addition, there are several military training grounds in the area.
