A Russian man who participated in the war against Ukraine committed a double murder after returning home. One of his victims was an elderly relative, the winner of the “Best Teacher of Russia” competition.

According to the Telegram channel Govorit NeMoskva, on February 24, a double murder took place in the village of Kutana of the Suntar ulus (district) of Yakutia. According to the investigation, a 35-year-old man broke the head of a 34-year-old drinking buddy with a crowbar, then went to the private house of his 64-year-old friend and hacked her with an ax, and then set the house on fire.

The victim was local teacher Valentina Fedorova – the winner of the competition “The best teacher of Russia”, the winner of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, Fedorova was killed “on the ground of old grudges with an ax to the head.”

As the source notes, the investigation does not provide other details, but the local publication Sakhaday writes that the suspect was previously convicted of murder, and in 2023 “went to work, and then returned to his native village of Kutana.”

“NeMoskva” learned that the suspect’s name is Viktor Savvinov, and found out that the full namesake of the suspect in the double murder (probably, he is the suspect) was convicted several times. In particular, since 2010, he has been serving time for causing grievous bodily harm, theft, carjacking, threatening to kill, robbery and attempted robbery. In 2020, the Vilyuy District Court of Yakutia found him guilty of murdering a woman: Savvinov drank alcohol with her, and then beat and stabbed her with four knives at once.

“Savvinov received a total of 11 years in a high-security colony. But in prison, he was recruited for a “special operation”. After his service, he returned to his native village of Kutana, but his father did not let him go home, then the man began to live 9 km from the village.” – says the message.

According to an eyewitness – the daughter of another victim of the “hero” – on February 23, on Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated in the Russian Federation, Savvinov walked around the village and complained about the lack of “due respect”.

“I walked around the neighbors and came to my mother at about 11:00 p.m., she is his sister-in-law, that is, his father and our father are brothers. My mother did not let him in and was the only one who called the head [of the settlement], said that he was drunk is circulating in the village,” the woman said. She says that the official sent a precinct officer, who did not arrest the member of the so-called “SVO”, but simply took him away from his relative and put him to bed.

“The next day, the man first killed his drinking buddy, and then went to take revenge on his elderly daughter-in-law for the fact that she had “surrendered” him to the police,” Hovorit NeMoskva reports.

Giorgii Povilaiko was at the front for only three months, and before that he was in prison for a year. Neighbors of the killer, who are shocked by his appearance, say that he behaves arrogantly and are afraid to face him. In August 2021, Povilaiko was sentenced to 24 years in prison for the brutal murder of the mother of two children, 37-year-old Anna Koshulko. The crime was committed in the victim’s garage.
