The acting head of the General Staff of the Russian Army unexpectedly appeared, journalists found out.

Russian General Valery Gerasimov could be dismissed from his post as Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

This assumption appeared in the Telegram channel of the Russian publication SOTA. Journalists decided that Gerasimov was fired because a draft government resolution was published on the portal of regulatory legal acts, which must be approved by the acting Chief of the General Staff, Colonel General Viktor Poznikhir.

“Given that a draft document has been published on the portal, we can hardly talk about Gerasimov’s vacation: by the time the resolution was agreed upon, the vacation should have already ended,” the publication noted. The journalists added that it is not yet known why the acting head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces appeared.

It is worth noting that the last time the Russian Ministry of Defense talked about Gerasimov’s activities was on February 26 – the enemy department claimed that he held some awards.

At the beginning of this year, on January 4, Ukrainian soldiers dealt a powerful blow to Crimea, which was still occupied by the Russians. As a result of the attack near Sevastopol, the enemy command post was hit. After this, information appeared online that supposedly “Gerasimov died.”

Later, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, said that he had no information that could confirm this fact . Sources of the Kremlin Snuffbox Telegram channel claimed that Gerasimov was not in Sevastopol at the time of the strike.
