Footage of the brutal shooting of Ukrainian defenders was captured by a drone recording the territory from the air.

CNN journalists published a video of another war crime committed by the Russian occupiers. On the footage, Russians cynically shoot Ukrainian prisoners.

The video appeared on the publication’s resources on Friday, September 6. According to journalists, the footage was shot in the Pokrovsky direction at the end of August. Russians to create three captured Ukrainian defenders. 

“The soldiers get out and, staggering, stand in the middle of the dusty track, then on their knees, putting their hands on their heads. After a few seconds, the footage of the Ukrainian drone shows that they are lying face down, motionless, and the dust is rising nearby,” the publication writes.

According to a Ukrainian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to protect the unit’s identity, the incident is “part of a system of apparent executions that appear to have become more frequent this year.”

Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin said that Ukraine is investigating 28 such incidents since the beginning of the war, in which a total of 62 Ukrainian servicemen were killed.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tyhiy, made a statement against the background of the publication of this video.

“This war crime is part of Russia’s ongoing gross violations of international humanitarian law. Russian barbarism is a shame for humanity. We call on all states and international organizations to strongly condemn Russia’s systematic killings and torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war,” said Tykhi.

He called for the consolidation of all efforts and the implementation of the provisions of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s Peace Formula, which require the return of all illegally detained persons.
