The enemy attacked locomotive and carriage depots, repair facilities, train stations, stations and rolling stock.
On the night of October 14, Russia launched a massive attack on railway facilities in various regions of Ukraine. The shelling resulted in hours-long train delays.
According to the Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Pertsovsky , the enemy attempted to destroy everything “that they could reach”: locomotive and carriage depots, repair facilities, train stations, and rolling stock.

That night, according to him, a massive wave of attacks on the railway engulfed the Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Ternopil regions.
“The power grid was knocked out, and our specialists immediately restored it. Key routes were blocked due to extensive damage, so they organized alternative routes and ensured passage. Most importantly, everyone was warned in advance, evacuated promptly, and survived the night without injuries or casualties. The material losses were significant, and we’ve been working on restoration since this morning,” he said.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia , a large number of trains are currently delayed. Train #93/94, Kharkiv-Chelm, is the most behind schedule, with a delay of almost 10 hours.
The longest delays are for the following trains:
- No. 93/94, Kharkov – Chelm, +9:50 hours on the road;
