The Kamensky Combine is one of the largest chemical enterprises in the South of Russia.

Ukrainian drones attacked the Rostov region and hit one of Russia’s largest chemical enterprises that produces gunpowder for ammunition, “Military” reports , citing satellite images and data from OSINT analysts.

Rostov Region Governor Yuriy Slyusar reported on the attack of Ukrainian drones on the region on the night of August 16. In total, more than 150 UAVs were destroyed over the region.

The defense enterprise FKP “Kamensky Combine” was hit, and a fire broke out there. This is evidenced by the extremely high heat signature on the territory of the enterprise, which was detected by NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service.

As “Military” notes, the heat signature was recorded by NASA’s FIRMS service at 01:14 on August 16. It persisted and expanded until 02:20.

According to OSINT resource VARTA , FKP “Kamensky Combine” is one of the largest chemical enterprises in the South of Russia.

It is located approximately 10–15 km from the state border of Ukraine, so it is within reach of a significant number of weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The main activity of the enterprise is the production of military products: artillery shells, gunpowder, explosives, detonators, fuses, primers, precursors and other ammunition components.

The plant also produces a wide range of chemical products, including plastics and synthetic resins, alcohols, phenols and their derivatives.

The plant has already been attacked by Ukrainian defense forces – in December 2024, the Ukrainian Air Force struck it with Storm Shadow cruise missiles .
