On the night of August 16, the Defense Forces again launched a series of effective strikes on enemy targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. In Crimea, the positions of the missile unit of the Russian Armed Forces and the coastal missile complex “Bastion” were hit, from which the occupiers struck Ukraine with supersonic missiles “Onyx” and hypersonic “Zircon”.
In Zaporizhzhia, soldiers struck a railway bridge important for Russian logistics, and in the Donetsk region they blew up MTZ and ammunition warehouses. Details were disclosed in the General Staff and the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The positions of the Bastion DBK in Crimea were attacked
On the night of Sunday, August 16, Navy units struck the launch positions and deployment site of the Russian coastal missile complex “Bastion” in Reserve, which is in temporarily occupied Crimea.
“As a result of the strike, the enemy suffered significant losses in weapons and manpower. The final enemy losses are being determined,” the Navy noted.
The defenders acted according to the principle of “destroy not the arrows, but the archers”: the occupiers used the damaged DBK to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages.
“The Bastion missile system is a scarce and expensive weapon, with the help of which the Russian occupiers carry out shelling of southern and other regions of Ukraine with supersonic Onyx missiles and hypersonic Zircon missiles. Ukrainian sailors daily reduce the enemy’s combat potential in the Black Sea region,” the Navy said in a statement.
Under attack – the logistics and warehouses of the occupiers on TOT
Also at night, as reported by the General Staff, a railway bridge was hit in the Svitlodolynskyi district of Zaporizhia region. The occupiers use it to provide military logistics and move personnel.
In addition, the defenders and enemy supplies near the front were thinned out.
They struck enemy material and technical equipment and ammunition depots in Karlivka, Donetsk region.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on August 15, the Defense Forces eliminated over 1,500 occupiers and burned 7 units of special equipment of the Russian army in a day. The enemy also suffered serious losses in other types of weapons and equipment, in particular in MLRS.
