The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the first missiles financed by Germany by the end of July.

An agreement has been signed in Ukraine to  produce long-range missiles with funding from Germany , with the first deliveries to the Armed Forces of Ukraine expected by the end of this month. This was announced by Bundeswehr Major General Christian Freuding in an interview with the ZDF television channel .

According to him, the agreement between Ukrainian industry and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was signed recently, and the program itself was initiated at the end of May.

He stated that the first long-range missiles should enter service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of July, and later “we will be talking about a large three-digit number.”

At the same time, Freuding added that this will significantly strengthen Ukraine’s air defense and its potential in the coming weeks and months.

“We need weapons systems capable of penetrating deep into Russian territory and attacking warehouses, command posts, airfields and aircraft,” he stressed.

Freuding added that Germany is “closely coordinating with partners” on the issue of supplying Ukraine with new medium- and long-range air defense systems. They have also been negotiating at all levels “for several weeks” about the possible supply of one or two Patriot systems to Ukraine, which Germany would have to purchase from the United States.
