Ukrainian partisans have carried out another successful sabotage operation in the Russian Federation. At the railway station in Voronezh, they destroyed rare equipment that the Russians can no longer produce.

This is a heavy recovery railway crane of the EDK-300/5 series. Details were reported by the military movement of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars “Atesh”.

“Agents of our movement carried out a sabotage action at the railway station in Voronezh. As a result of the operation, a heavy recovery railway crane of the EDK-300/5 series was destroyed – an extremely rare piece of equipment that has been discontinued,” the message states.

Atesh said that the EDK-300/5 is designed for complex emergency and repair work on the railway and is capable of lifting loads weighing up to 300 tons. For Russia, this is literally a “piece product.”

“There are only a few such cranes left at the disposal of Russian Railways – each loss critically complicates the restoration of damaged infrastructure and the elimination of the consequences of accidents at key nodes. Replacing a destroyed crane will require significant time and resources. While Putin’s army is looking for a replacement, the railway hub and logistics in the region are operating with a limited recovery reserve. Even in the deep rear, critical equipment is not immune from destruction,” Atesh noted.

As OBOZ.UA reported, according to “Ates”, the occupiers came up with a cynical way to deliver fuel to the front. The command ordered the occupiers to change into civilian clothes and transport fuel and military cargo in ambulances, utility vehicles, and grain trucks.

  1. Seeing that enemy locomotives and trains in general are important targets, losing such equipment as the one in the article will have negative consequences for keeping their rail lines operational.
