A Tu-134 military transport aircraft was destroyed at the Orenburg-2 military airfield in the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“An enemy carcass was burned. On the night of October 12-13, 2024, a Tu-134 aircraft belonging to the 117th military transport aviation regiment of the armed forces of the aggressor state burned down in Russia. A devastating fire broke out at the Russian military airfield “Orenburg-2″ , where the Tu-134 was based,” the message says. 

Intelligence sources note that such Soviet ships are used, in particular, to transport the senior staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation

As UNIAN reported, the Ukrainian defense forces regularly strike Russian military facilities and destroy enemy forces. 

In particular, yesterday it became known that the “Khanska” airbase was under attack by drones of the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Security Service and the Special Operations Forces . At the time of the attack, 12 Su-34s, two Diamond DA42s, 37 L-39s, four Su-35S and two Mi-8s were located at the airfield. In addition, sources in the Ukrainian special service noted that 57 combat and training aircraft and helicopters were at the airport at the time of the attack. How many of them were destroyed or damaged is currently being determined. But it is already known that there was a large-scale fire and detonation at the airfield.

On October 3, Ukrainian drones attacked the military airfield “Borysoglebsk” in the Voronezh region of Russia. Four foci of fires were recorded there after that.
