US presidential candidate Donald Trump is “the most dangerous person for this country.”
Such a statement was made by the ex-head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, The Washington Post writes . He warned that Trump is a “fascist to the core”, which is why Milley feels anxious about the prospect of his election as US president.
“No one has ever been more dangerous to this country than Donald Trump. I now realize that he is a total fascist. He is the most dangerous person to this country,” Milley said.
“He’s a walking, talking advertisement for what he’s going to do,” Milley warned.
Who is Mark Milley?
Milley served for more than a year as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under Donald Trump and continued in that role under President Joe Biden.
Retiring in 2023, Milley made clear his apparent misgivings about Trump in a scathing speech. “We do not swear an oath to a king or queen, a tyrant, a dictator or a dictator’s successor,” he said at the time.
Milley later received a “constant barrage of death threats,” which he attributed to Trump’s political rhetoric and his fixation on retribution against his perceived enemies.
