Dozens of people, including children, have died in Ukrainian waters in a week.

Alarming statistics and causes of tragedies

According to rescuers, 46 people died in the water over the past seven days, including 19 children.

“Behind these numbers are not statistics, but human destinies cut short by a moment of carelessness,” the State Emergency Service noted.

The service explains that most often tragedies occur due to swimming in dangerous or unequipped places, lack of supervision of children, and ignoring the rules of conduct on the water.

Rescue calls and recent incidents

Rescuers respond to calls related to water accidents every day. According to them, in such situations, a few minutes can be decisive.

The State Emergency Service urges citizens to be careful when relaxing near water bodies, not to leave children unattended, and to swim only in specially equipped places.

“Remember: safe recreation begins with responsibility. Do not ignore water safety rules. Do not lose vigilance. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. After all, sometimes one minute of carelessness can cost your life,” the rescuers emphasized.

A number of tragic cases are also reported. In Bukovina, the bodies of a man and his two sons, who were considered missing, were found in the Dniester River. In Transcarpathia, the body of a ten-year-old boy was found in the Tysa River, who was swept away by the current. In the Odessa region, a 15-year-old teenager was found dead in a reservoir of a former quarry. In the same region, the search for a ten-year-old girl who was swept out to sea was called off .
