On the morning of Sunday, June 28, drones reached Russia’s Yaroslavl region, where the region’s administrative center came under attack. Online reports indicate a possible strike on a key Russian oil infrastructure facility.
According to preliminary data, drones may have struck an oil refinery in Yaroslavl, OSINT channels reported.
“Yaroslavl, oil refinery attacked,” analysts write.
Footage circulating online shows smoke rising from the impact site. Monitoring channels suggest the strike likely hit the local Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery. Explosions were heard in the area.

It’s worth noting that at the time of publication, there was no official confirmation of an attack on the oil refinery. However, at around 6:00 AM on Sunday, regional governor Mikhail Evreyev issued an air raid alert in the Yaroslavl region due to a drone threat.
Some time later, Evraev wrote that the Yaroslavl region was under attack by drones. Amid the shelling, local authorities had to close traffic on the outskirts of Yaroslavl heading towards Moscow.
“Refrain from traveling in the designated area and its surroundings, or choose a route that avoids this area,” the governor urged local residents.

The Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery is one of the five largest facilities of its kind in Russia. It processes approximately 15 million tons of oil annually. The refinery is considered a vital component of the Russian military’s logistics.
It is worth noting that on the night of June 28, drones also attacked an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban : a large-scale fire broke out at the facility.
The day before, Flamingo missiles hit one of the key enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex – the Titan-Barrikady plant.
