Basic information about the defeat of the Russian Black Sea Fleet vessel “Kommuna” has already been reported to the Ukrainian Navy.

Representative of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army South Sergei Bratchuk commented on the defeat in the temporarily occupied Crimea of ​​the Russian Black Sea Fleet ship “Kommuna”, which is designed to lift submarines and sunken cargo.

“Actually, at this moment, everything that is known was mainly reported by the Navy, their identity is clear. But there is information that, perhaps, this ship “Commune” took part in the work at the site of the destruction of the flagship cruiser “Moskva”,” – he said on the telethon.

Bratchuk added that this is quite symbolic, like a huge slap in the face for Russia. “Considering that this is truly a rarity of the Imperial Black Sea Fleet, today we still have a huge emotional and moral slap in the face for strong Russia. And of course, this cannot but rejoice. In any case, if the ship performed the corresponding functions, then we understand that today they can no longer perform these functions. For them this is a minus, but for us it is a plus,” he emphasized.

Destruction of Russian Black Sea Fleet ships in Crimea

On the morning of April 21, explosions occurred in Sevastopol, and the occupation authorities announced an air raid alert. Then information appeared about a possible attack by anti-ship missiles on one of the invaders’ ships in temporarily occupied Sevastopol. We are talking about the rescue vessel for submarines of the Russian Black Sea Fleet “Kommuna”.

The Naval Forces (Navy) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed that they managed to hit the Russian Black Sea Fleet ship  “Kommuna” in Crimea. The representative of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, noted that the nature of the damage is still being verified, but “the ship is now not capable of performing its tasks.” 

It is worth recalling that in April 2022, due to a hit from Ukrainian anti-ship missiles, the Neptune received serious damage and the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva, sank .  The destruction of “Moscow” was a huge loss for the Russian Federation and caused a chain reaction of events that significantly strengthened the position of Ukraine and weakened Russia, which most radically affected the course of the war.
