Longer-range ATACMS missiles may be included in the first aid package for Kyiv, – senator

Until now, Ukraine received these missiles with a shorter range.

In the upcoming military aid package from the United States, Ukraine may receive, in particular, ATACMS tactical missiles with an extended range. Mark Warner, Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said this in an interview with CBS-News .

“I hope as soon as this (the adopted bill on aid to Ukraine – UNIAN) reaches the president by Tuesday or Wednesday, these deliveries will literally be launched by these longer-range ATACMS,” he said, emphasizing that these missiles are expressly spelled out in the bill.

According to the senator, if everything goes well with the passage of the bill in the Senate, deliveries of the weapons themselves could start by the end of next week. Warner added that the ATACMS missiles should have already been prepared for transfer to Ukraine.

  1. Just in time to give putler a May 9th present, the illegal bridge at the bottom of the Azov.

    • Yeah, Mr. Ofp. Especially to make up for the long delay. The White House should show they’ve learned something in the meantime! And, btw, this may sway the other bonehead, Scholz, to follow the lead. Let’s hope for the best. 🤞😕🇺🇦

      • Indeed, the bonehead Scholz always needs someone to lead because he’s scared shitless of what lies ahead of the trail … like a little girl in the woods, if you will.

        • Exactly, Mr. Ofp. Scholz is the minor problem. If Biden leads, he will follow. He’s simply not the kind of guy who will storm ahead. At least not in real action, even though he occasionally likes to promise more than he will keep (like in the “Zeitenwende” speech). So, any move by the WH will be very helpful, have a surging effect, so to say. 😎

              • I agree that he’s not. A leader leads, but Scholzy watches a certain happening for a while, and then, if need be, makes a decision, usually a stupid one.

  2. One can hope for the longer range ATACMS being sent, but several Senators in both parties have pushed for them to be sent for years with Biden (and Scholz)refusing to “risk escalation”.

I really hope I am wrong but there is no evidence that Biden or many in the west including Germany have learned anything from the Ukrainian loses that occurred in the first two years due to their unwillingness /inability to send the right equipment, in enough quantity, in a timely fashion. I am afraid the Biden Principle is still in effect in Ukraine – do whatever is necessary to ensure neither side wins.
