Zelensky: There is no certainty that all Ukrainian children abducted by Russia will return home

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine cannot be confident in the return of all abducted Ukrainian children, emphasizing the importance of continued attention from international partners to this issue.

This is reported by Censor.NET with reference to Dzerkalo Tyzhnia .

“We have dealings with Russia, so, to be honest, we cannot be sure about this. But this is the most difficult issue, and it is very important that partners raise it,” the president noted in response to journalists’ questions.

According to the head of state, if the topic of abducted Ukrainian children disappears from the international agenda, Russia will do everything possible to “hush up” this issue and remove it from public discussion.

He emphasized that continued pressure and attention from the international community are critically important for the return of children to Ukraine.

According to available data, at least 20,000 Ukrainian children were forcibly resettled or deported by Russian authorities to Russia at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

About 6,000 children have reportedly been transferred to a network of so-called re-education camps, from where they are later sent to military training centers once they reach adolescence.

As a reminder, Zelensky stated that Ukraine has a list of about 500 kidnapped children, indicating their addresses in Russia.
