Seven people are currently in hospitals injured after a Russian drone hit a regular minibus in Bilopilla , Sumy region .

This was announced in the Telegram channel by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky , Censor.NET reports .

According to him, people have burns, fractures, and contusions.

“Everyone is receiving the necessary assistance. Unfortunately, there are fatalities – nine people. All details are being checked. According to preliminary information, the Russians killed a family: a father, mother, and daughter died from the strike. My condolences to the family and friends. All the deceased were civilians. And the Russians could not help but understand which vehicle they were targeting. This was a deliberate killing of civilians,” Zelensky noted.

He also reminds us that yesterday, like every day of this war, there was an opportunity to cease fire.

“Ukraine has long proposed this – a complete and unconditional ceasefire in order to save lives. Russia only retains the opportunity for itself to continue killing.”

We need to put pressure on Russia to stop the killings. Without stronger sanctions, without stronger pressure on Russia, they will not seek real diplomacy there. Yesterday in Istanbul, everyone saw a weak and unprepared Russian delegation without significant powers. This must change. Real steps are needed to end the war. We expect strong sanctions against Russia from the US, Europe and all our partners. Diplomacy must work. I thank everyone in the world who is really helping – not with words, but with force. Peace is needed,” the head of state emphasizes.

As a reminder, on the morning of May 17, a Russian drone attacked a bus carrying civilians. As of 8 a.m., nine people were killed. Three days of mourning have been declared in Bilopilla, Sumy Region .

It later became known that the people on the attacked bus were traveling for evacuation, most of the dead were women of retirement age.
