Details of Volodymyr Zelensky’s telephone conversation with US President Joseph Biden told at the President’s office

This was reported on the website of the President of Ukraine .

The politicians exchanged information on the security situation and discussed ways to de-escalate. Zelensky assured that Ukraine is ready for any development of events.

“We will stop any escalation towards Ukraine. The capital of Ukraine, Kiev, other cities of our state – Kharkov and Lviv, Dnipro and Odessa – are safe and under reliable protection,” he said.

He also thanked the United States and partners for their support and expressed the hope that it would help prevent the spread of panic among Ukrainians.

Zelensky also spoke about the importance of providing effective security guarantees to Ukraine.

“We are ready to discuss them in different formats,” he said.

The Presidents discussed the need to continue political and diplomatic efforts to unblock the peace process and restore stability.

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine stands exclusively for the peaceful settlement of the conflict. The leaders also discussed sanctions in the event of an escalation of aggression by Russia.

The President of Ukraine appreciated the active cooperation with the United States in the field of security and defense, which contributes to strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“So far we are not a member of NATO. Therefore, only a strong Ukrainian army is the key to the security of our state,” the President stressed.

In addition, they discussed improving Ukraine’s financial and energy resilience against the backdrop of current challenges.

Also during the conversation, Zelensky invited Joe Biden to visit Ukraine.

“I am convinced that your arrival in Kiev in the coming days, which are decisive for stabilizing the situation, will be a powerful signal and will contribute to de-escalation,” he said.

Possibility of Russian invasion

On February 11, Joe Biden  , in a conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg  , said that a Russian attack on Ukraine could happen “in the coming days.” The American president  warned the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin,  about a “quick response” in the event of an offensive.

On February 11, due to the high risk of hostilities, a number of countries called on their diplomats to leave Ukraine.

US presidential adviser Jake Sullivan on the same day suggested that  the Russian invasion could begin with missile strikes and, following Biden, advised the Americans to fly out of Ukraine within the next 48 hours.

Russia called the US forecasts  “escalation of the situation” and “outright disinformation.”

  1. There is no point in letting God knows how many Ukrainian servicemen and civilians die at the hands of putinazi savages just because of a shit organisation like Nato, which Ukraine will never join anyway.
Better to agree to the rat’s demands in return for a cast iron guarantee of a return of putler’s troops to their bases plus a cast iron non-aggression guarantee and then use the time available to consolidate Ukraine’s status as an independent unitary state and finally make Ukraine invasion-proof.

  2. I doubt this all is about Nato. Ukraine even took part in Nato missions under Yanukovich and declared it wants to join under Poroshenko, when it was enshrined in the constitution. And Nato already stated that Ukraine can forget about membership for the next ten years. No, this is about the Crimea’s legal transfer to Russia. Putin had been waiting for eight years and nothing happened. He lost patience. I personally saw this coming long time ago. And the Crimean Platform probably was too much ‘provocation’. But such a horrible scenario as of now, i did not expect. In particular i did not expect that the West would leave Ukraine undefended in a situation like now. The West betrayed Ukraine. May they forgive us.

  3. Zelensky used the Sunday call to suggest what the official called “concrete ideas to diminish the Russian threat to Ukraine.”

These included renewed calls for Washington to provide greater military support for Ukraine, including the provision of more advanced weaponry, according to the official.

Zelensky also emphasized the need for a significant financial package for Ukraine, according to the official. The official told CNN the Ukrainian leader stressed to his US counterpart that strong economic support would – in the words of the official — “show Putin that the West stands with Ukraine, and that the impact of Putin’s escalation would bear no fruit.”

According to the Ukrainian official, Zelensky asked Biden to visit Ukraine as soon as possible, but that there was no positive response from Biden. US officials say a trip by Biden to Ukraine is extremely unlikely.

Anything else would have been a surprise. Let the old fossil cower in his bunker and feed him generous amounts of Geritol. He’s not worth much more than that. I would never let this geriatric, feeble-minded, lily-livered dude manage a grocery store, much less become POTUS.
