President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is in Brussels, where three security agreements are to be signed at once , one of which is with the European Union as a whole.
The head of state announced this in his Telegram channel , noting that Ukraine recently began actual negotiations on EU membership. “Today I am in Brussels to take part in the meeting of the European Council and thank all European leaders for unity and for confirming the irreversibility of our European course,” he said.
Zelensky said that he would meet with the leaders of the EU and member states and hold bilateral negotiations. He added that every step is for the sake of bringing our historical goal closer – peace and prosperity in a common European home.
“We will sign three security agreements at once, one of which is with the European Union as a whole. For the first time, it will secure the obligations of all 27 member states to provide broad support to Ukraine, despite any institutional changes within,” the president emphasized.
Ukraine’s accession to the EU
As UNIAN reported, on June 25, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the start of accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. According to her, we are on the verge of a transformational moment.
On the same day, in his video message , Zelensky noted that Ukraine will definitely become a full member of the European Union. Now it’s a matter of general technical work, adaptation of the Ukrainian system to the EU and the political will of Europe.

Economically the EU can and will do the same for Ukraine that it did for Poland.
Militarily, the only security agreement that counts is one that says:
“Give us your “shopping list” of everything you need to take out orcs on a 3000/day basis and we will provide it.
Furthermore we guarantee to close Ukrainian skies to anything not authorized.
And finally, brigades of troops from our members will start being deployed in Ukraine. Initially in the west and south west. Eventually throughout the entire country.”
