Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the replacement of the current ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova , during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Friday , Bloomberg writes , citing informed sources.

According to the publication’s interlocutor, potential candidates for this position include Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanyshina, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Energy Minister German Galushchenko.
“According to the source, Zelensky instructed his Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the appointment of Ukraine’s next ambassador with the American side,” Bloomberg writes.
At the same time, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that Bloomberg’s information about potential candidates is not true.
“The rating there is as follows: Tochytskyi (very likely, but he may go to another G7 country); Zhovkva (unlikely); Umerov (very unlikely). Shmyhal refused a long time ago, Herman cannot even be sent as an ambassador to Moldova, and neither can the others,” he wrote.
