Special attention was paid to strengthening Ukrainian air defense.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his visit to London .

As the head of state reported on his Telegram channel , they discussed the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. Zelensky insists on increasing pressure on the energy and banking sectors, the shadow fleet, suppliers of dual-use components, as well as on everyone involved in the production of the Oreshnik. In addition, the leaders discussed the development of defense cooperation:

“Interaction in this area will allow Ukraine to receive stable financing for important projects, namely in the production of interceptor drones and long-range drones. And there is a good result of today’s meeting – an additional decision on joint production. I think it will strengthen both countries. Special attention is paid to strengthening our air defense. We also have agreements. Thank you!”.

According to  The Independent , during the visit, Zelensky and Starmer met with Ukrainian military personnel undergoing training as part of Operation Interflex. The leaders announced a new military partnership.

“I am very proud that this afternoon we can announce a joint military production agreement, the first of its kind for Ukraine and the UK, which will be a huge step forward in the contribution that we can continue to make and really symbolises not only our work together in this conflict, but also the 100-year agreement that we have made,” the British Prime Minister said.

The deal will provide the UK with access to Ukrainian technological developments, allowing British defense companies to scale up production of military equipment, and Ukraine to obtain more drones for use on the front. The first deals between the defense companies could be concluded in the coming weeks.

Zelensky in London

As is known, since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with over £18 billion in support.

London also supplied Ukraine with a wide range of weapons: Challenger 2 tanks, air defense systems, Storm Shadow missiles, drones, RADAR, as well as dozens of ground, air, and sea platforms.

Today, the president announced another visit to Britain, during which he met with the speakers of the House of Commons and the House of Lords of the British Parliament – Lindsay Goyle and John McFaul.

In addition, the Ukrainian president had an audience with King Charles III . The details of their meeting were not reported.
