President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is increasing its defense against massive attacks by Russian drones and missiles, developing its own anti-ballistic system and increasing the production of means for mass shooting down drones.
Zelenskyy stated this at a joint press conference with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Kyiv, reports Espresso correspondent Kateryna Galko.
According to Zelensky, 67 companies in Ukraine are currently developing means to massively shoot down Russian jet drones. Three to five of them have already shown real results and are now counting on their own efforts to bring production to a mass level.
At the same time, Zelensky called anti-ballistic defense a weak point for Ukraine. According to him, he will soon hold meetings in Norway and Canada, where he plans to make progress in creating his own anti-ballistic system.
“I think we will move as quickly as possible towards this result,” the president said.
In addition, according to him, next year the US will increase the production of missiles for Patriot systems, and Germany will increase its own production under existing licenses – there are already relevant agreements with it.
“I think we have strengthened a lot,” he added, emphasizing that Ukraine will need these capabilities for defense even after the war is over.
