Zelensky offers to resign and he models leadership.
But we already knew that.
Today the President of Ukraine made it clear he would gladly resign in exchange for NATO membership and peace in his country.
I believe him 100%.
The notion of a power hungry Zelensky, mad for power, is projection, not reality.
Those who have watched him closely have seen his transformation, listened to his very personal comments about his own family, and noted the constant peril and ridicule under which he must live, see a far more nuanced man – One who was foisted into an unimaginably difficult situation, and rose to the occasion with courage. He has aged a decade in the last three years. Every day he is unsure whether it will be his last. It is a miracle he yet lives.
He is very aware of the implications of the struggle for the people of Ukraine on his own nation and beyond. Thus, he literally carries the weight of the world on his shoulder. He endures the outrageous calumnies and manipulations by world leaders and media pundits.
Has he made mistakes? More than a few. Does this diminish what he has accomplished? Never.
He is not fighting for global domination, like Russia, or economic hegemony, like the United States in 2025. He fights for survival and for the identity of his people.
He has been indefatigable, but he is only human and every day the toll on him personally grows. I have little doubt, that he would welcome a break from this responsibility….but not at the price of Ukraine’s survival.
When the leader of a nation is a true believer in the cause of freedom, understands what freedom means, and is willing to lay down his life for it, you have found a good man.
So, he made a wise speech.
He won’t resign to enable America and Russia to remove him as an obstacle to their perspective objectives. He won’t resign as a capitulation to those outside of Ukraine parroting Russian propaganda in order to destabilize his country. But he will resign if allies repel Russia from Ukrainian soil and secure its borders.
At that point. Mission accomplished. Resignation becomes the mark of a sacrificial leader, not a demagogue.

Zelensky willing to give up presidency in exchange for Ukraine Nato membership

He’s no doubt been pressured into this. But he has come up with a worthy reply.
Zelensky has powerful allies that make this pressure seem more like that in a hot air balloon.
First, no elections in times of war in Ukrainian law.
Second, the majority of people are against it.
Third, even opposition parties and politicians don’t want elections during war.
Fourth, the entire West, sans the banana republic of America, are against elections now.
If I were Zelensky, I would never call for elections now just because of Trump. Zelensky would have to drop martial law first, and this is not a good idea. This might give the ghoul an opportunity to do something nasty and whatever else.
However, surrendering the presidency for immediate NATO membership? You bet. This will shut the orange hot air blimp up, if the man child had a functional brain, which he doesn’t and never had. But the most likely outcome will be him running his big, voluminous, hot air orifice to exclaim loud bullshit.
It was a smart move by Zelensky.
You owe Zelensky an apology Trump. Dictators don’t resign. Of course an apology is a beneath a self centred narcissist like yourself.
In his eyes he can do no wrong.
I won’t be surprised when he announces himself as Jesus Christ reincarnate.
I would love him to prove he could walk on water. Maybe in the middle of the Atlantic.
