The Russian Foreign Ministry criticizes the EU for its desire to participate in peace negotiations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has made accusations against the European Union, calling it “Russophobic.” According to Russian media, the statement was made by the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Maria Zakharova at a briefing on February 18.

In particular, videos are being circulated in which a representative of the Russian diplomatic department accuses the European Union, including allegedly of imposing hegemony as a “recipe for peace.”

“It’s already funny to listen to this, even if they still continued to talk about some kind of hegemony, it would have been necessary to make a certain footnote and write that this hegemony is already in its death throes. These are not recipes for peace, these are all recipes for disaster…” she said.

Zakharova also claims that European leaders are allegedly saying that “peaceful” Russians did not suffer from the war.

“At the Munich Conference on alleged security policy, we heard from a representative of the European Union the words that allegedly Russian civilians, the Russian civilian population, are not suffering, they are not being killed, and they are not being injured,” said a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Zakharova called Ukraine’s allies “Euro-Atlantic Russophobes” who “nervously react” to Russian-American contacts and impose their participation in negotiations on Ukraine. Zakharova believes that the actions of European leaders insisting on security guarantees for Ukraine are “an unprecedented phenomenon in international relations.”

“They (contacts between the Russian Federation and the United States, – UNIAN) are causing real hysteria among Euro-Atlantic Russophobes,” the ministry’s spokesman emphasizes.

She also spoke negatively about the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy:

“The head of European diplomacy, Kallas, who has finally sunk into a Russophobic frenzy, has gone so far as to begin to shield the militants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces…”.

According to Zakharova, the Munich Conference demonstrated that “the West has long ceased to be a standard of security and democracy.”

“No one heard any constructive ideas regarding the construction of security in the world. This is not why we gathered, and this is not why we have gathered these past years. Again, the record about the Russian threat, worn out to the point of inarticulate sounds.”
