Remember when Russia was supposed to take Kyiv in three days? Now, a drone strike on a data center is reportedly leaving Russians struggling to order taxis, use banking apps, or even control their smart homes.

Ukrainian drones reportedly struck a major Yandex data center, triggering a fire and disrupting more than 80 services. From taxi rides and food delivery to music streaming and online gaming, the outage showed just how much everyday life depends on a handful of digital systems.

But Yandex may have found an even more innovative solution than restoring its services: updating its user agreement to include a force majeure clause that covers military operations involving drones and missiles.

Your app stops working? Your smart home suddenly develops a mind of its own? Please consult the terms and conditions. Apparently, war is not covered by customer service.

So much for Russia’s high-tech future. Kyiv in three days? Maybe. But the taxi app may need a few more. Join Benjamin Lee in a new episode of Break The Fake to find out more.

  1. Poor cockroaches. Life is so hard.

I laugh my ass off at the propaganda cockroach, Solovyov.

  2. There is a huge drop in the number of pro russian scum from the world’s shitholes, spewing their propaganda on social media. Strangely enough it is very noticeable on sites that are banned in mafia land. Twitter, Youtube and Instagram are very quiet.
