Explosions and fires erupted in a number of Russian regions on the night of July 31. In Volgograd, the targets included a local refinery and the Wildberries hub.
Three cities in Tatarstan were also attacked at once, as well as Kaspiysk, where the main military base of the Russian Caspian Flotilla is located. OBOZ.UA has collected details of the attacks.
Attack on Tatarstan
At around 04:30, reports of explosions in Tatarstan appeared online.
In particular, it was loud in Nizhnyokamsk: locals talked about explosions and the work of air defense, as well as the fact that the Nizhnyokamsk refinery began to relieve pressure due to the attack.


In addition, there were reports of air defense operations, as well as a fire following them in the regional capital, Kazan.


And in Zelenodolsk, another logistics facility of the Wildberries marketplace was hit, although as of 6 a.m. Kyiv time, no large-scale fire was observed there.
Under attack – Kaspiysk
In the morning, Russians also began to complain about the drone attack on Dagestan.
The explosions occurred in Kaspiysk, the city where the main naval base of the Russian Caspian Flotilla is located.
Strikes on Volgograd
As of 03:45, the massive attack on Volgograd was ongoing.
Officially, the city has only confirmed a “threat from drones.” But local residents are complaining about both explosions and heavy smoke .
The authorities have not reported any casualties.

At this point, it is known that at least two important facilities in the city have been damaged.

Firstly, it is the Wildberries distribution center, a logistics hub with an area of 44,000 m².

It is ” a key logistics hub for the Volgograd, Astrakhan and neighboring regions,” Exilenova+ notes.

Secondly, the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery was hit again.

The refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia. The enterprise produces gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel and other petroleum products that are of great importance for the country’s economy and fuel supply to the civilian and state sectors.

The city is being attacked by Ukrainian strike drones. Also, “according to reports from Russian monitoring channels, UAVs with discharges are also operating in Volgograd,” and “information about the consequences of the attack continues to arrive,” the Osint community assures.
What preceded
Volgograd also came under attack by drones on the night of May 29. This time the target was Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka. Moreover, that attack on the refinery became an anniversary one .
LLC “Lukoil-Volgogradneftopererobka” is the largest oil refinery in the Volgograd region and one of the key assets of “Lukoil”. The enterprise annually processes more than 15 million tons of oil.
Previously, this refinery was attacked in February 2024, twice in January, February, March, August 14 and 16, November 2025, and February 2026.
