“We have his address”

Note there is an additional post; from EP, at the end of the following post :

Russian state media called for Senator Lindsey Graham’s assassination in 2023 after his meeting with Zelenskyy. Now, 3 years later, just one day after meeting with Zelenskyy in Ukraine, Senator Graham is dead.

In a 2023 video, Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Russia Today, said she wants to send a russian assassination squad to take out Senator Lindsey Graham, adding: “It’s not even hard, we have his address.”

I usually don’t believe in conspiracies, unless it involves russia – there everything is possible.

Additional post follows :

…………

US Senator Lindsey Graham, Ukraine’s most consistent Republican ally in the Senate, has died at 71. His last foreign visit was to Kyiv on 10 July, where he met with President Zelenskyy

The day before his death, he announced he had finally secured Trump administration commitment for his “sanctions from hell” bill — a 500% tariff on countries buying Russian oil, gas, and uranium that he had been building toward for years.

Ukrainian strikes have already taken over 40% of Russia’s oil refining capacity. The bill, if passed, would have given those strikes maximum financial leverage.

Graham’s record in Ukraine spans more than a decade.

After Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea, he publicly broke with the Obama administration’s approach, which led to Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

He traveled to Bucha and Borodianka in July 2022 with Senator Blumenthal. Anton Herashchenko, who accompanied that visit, remembered tears in Graham’s eyes when he saw photographs of Russian atrocities.

His relationship with Ukraine was not without tension. After the February 2025 Oval Office confrontation between Trump and Zelenskyy, Graham called for Zelenskyy’s resignation. Zelenskyy rejected the demand.

But Graham continued to advocate for Ukraine inside the Trump administration even through the coldest moments of that relationship. By November 2025, he was warning that any Ukrainian surrender to Putin would “haunt us all.”

Graham was Washington’s most persistent anti-Putin voice in Republican politics. He left the “sanctions from hell” bill without its principal architect at the moment it was closest to passage.

  1. “After the February 2025 Oval Office confrontation between Trump and Zelenskyy, Graham called for Zelenskyy’s resignation.”

That was a horrendous judgement call.
Still he was a hell of a lot better than the usual acolytes of Krasnov.

What will happen to his bill?
