Trump’s special envoy said he will travel to Moscow today together with Jared Kushner to discuss a potential deal with Russian representatives. After that, the peace talks are expected to continue in Abu Dhabi.
Witkoff made the remarks during the Ukrainian Breakfast at Ukraine House Davos, organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
He also praised the Ukrainian delegation, specifically naming Kyrylo Budanov, calling them “an excellent negotiating team.”
According to Witkoff, only one key issue remains in the peace process — and it can be resolved. He stressed that the brave Ukrainian people deserve support and recognition for their struggle, which is why he is heading to Moscow to help move the peace process forward.

🇯🇵🇺🇦 Japan to provide $6 billion in humanitarian and technical aid to Ukraine in 2026
Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyuk thanked Japan’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome, for the significant humanitarian assistance provided at this critical time.
She noted that Japan has already delivered over 2,500 generators, 65 transformers, and other equipment, with total aid exceeding $15 billion.
Kondratyuk also highlighted Japan’s role in rehabilitating military personnel, supporting the return of Ukrainian children, and maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia.
The ambassador confirmed that most political forces in Japan will continue to support Ukraine.
